He is bullied by them and his fat, spoilt cousin Dudley, and lives a very unremarkable life with only the odd hiccup (like his hair growing back overnight!) to cause him much to think about. That is until an owl turns up with a letter addressed to Harry and all hell breaks loose! He is literally rescued by a world where nothing is as it seems and magic lessons are the order of the day. Read and find out how Harry discovers his true heritage at Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft, the reason behind his parents mysterious death, who is out to kill him, and how he uncovers the most amazing secret of all time, the fabled Philosopher's Stone! All this and muggles too. Now, what are they? This is Jo's first book and she has already written seven outlines for Harry's further adventures at Hogwarts. Seller Inventory # 10500

About this Item: London: Bloomsbury 2005–7, 2005. 7 individually published works, octavo. Original pictorial paper-covered boards. With the dust jackets. A fine set. Each book in this complete set of the Harry Potter novels is inscribed by the author on the title page, with the first six inscribed "To Louisa, J. K. Rowling", and the final book inscribed "To Louisa, with love, J. K. Rowling". The set is accompanied by a letter of provenance from Fiddy Henderson, Rowling's personal assistant, dated 21 August 2005. The first six books were sent together and the set was completed when Deathly Hallows was published in 2007; the latter book also bears the publisher's holograph sticker authenticating the signature. The set consists of mixed editions: Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows are first editions, the earlier works later impressions. It is unusual to encounter a complete set inscribed to the same recipient. Collectively, the seven Harry Potter books have sold nearly 500 million copies since the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 1997, making Harry Potter the bestselling book series of all time. Some estimates suggest that only The Bible and The Red Book have sold more copies than the series. The books have been translated into more than 70 languages, making them some of the most translated works of literature in history. Errington A13(a), A14(a). Seller Inventory # 118747

About this Item: Bloomsbury 1999-2007, London, 1999. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. No Jacket. First Edition. The first printings of the deluxe editions of the (at the time) full Harry Potter series. Clothbound with pictorial onlays, all edges gilt; fine without dust jackets, as issued. The Azkaban, which was the first volume published in a British deluxe edition (Philosopher's Stone and Chamber being issued in a deluxe edition retroactively) had the smallest printing, (reportedly 7000 copies) and names "Joanne Rowling" rather than "J.K. Rowling" on the copyright page. Here together with the collector's edition of The Tales of Beedle the Bard [London: Children's High Level Group, 2008]. The leatherbound Beedle is in a drawstring bag, which, with ten illustrations by Rowling, are housed together in a large box made to look like a textbook, which is contained in the publisher's sleeve. Also included is the Sotheby's catalog for the auction of one of seven copies of the manuscript of Beedle the Bard, with an introduction by Rowling. Since the time of the last deluxe edition's release, the Harry Potter franchise has expanded with the completion of the 8-film series (with an additional three-movie prequel having debuted in 2016); original Rowling content on the Pottermore website; two Wizarding World theme parks; and a two-part stage play sequel (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), which premiered in London, the script of which was released as the eighth book in the series. About this Item: Bloomsbury, 2007. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. J.K. Rowling (2007) ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows‘, UK first edition, first printing, published by Bloomsbury. Signed and inscribed by Rowling on the title page: “to Kelly [signature]”, certified with the official hologram as called for (bearing the 21/07/07 date). By the time of publication signed Harry Potter books have become so valuable that a plethora of forgeries have permeated the market. Aware of this problem, the publisher issued the hologram sticker authenticating Rowling’s signature. There was only one signing event for this title: the midnight signing at the Natural History Museum in London on 20 July 2007, for which only 1,700 lucky ticket winners were admitted. Please note, that ‘signed’ copies not bearing the hologram sticker are to 99% forgeries and in any case worthless for collectors unless some substantial provenance can be presented. Condition: a fine copy in a fine dust jacket. The seventh and last volume in the seminal Harry Potter series which took the book world by storm igniting Potter-mania amongst kids (and at that stage adults as well). The first print run for this book was a staggering 8 million copies. However, since effectively only about 1,700 copies were signed at the only official signing on 20 July 2007 ‘Deathly Hallows’ sells for a considerably higher price than many earlier volumes in the Potter series. Adapted as a two-part movie in 2010 and 2011. First and Fine. Signed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # ABE-1516131469512
