Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Dead Babies' by Martin Amis. This book is a Penguin Books, 1984, UK edition. First Edition in this format. Martin Amis's satire set in the 1970's was his second novel. A group of friends party at a country house over the course of a few days, creating 'one helluva house-party'. The covers are bright and clean with minor crease to front. Lightly dusty to back. Good, straight, strong and complete spine looks unbroken and does book does feel unread. Contents: very light mark to front endpaper with tiny curl to tips. Pages are lightly age-toned with ghost of price in pencil to front page otherwise clean and unmarked. Martin Amis was the son of Kingsley Amis. He was born in 1949 and died in 2023. Not exlib and packed and sent with care.

The story takes place over a single weekend at a manor called Appleseed Rectory. This book is an ex-library book. In very good condition, the binding is straight and tight and the boards clean apart from a faint mark to the back board. The end papers and pages are free from inscriptions. There are two stamp and pan marks, remains of the library sheet to the front end paper and scuff marks to the rear of the front board, damage between the title page and the previous page, three stamps and pen marks to the publishers page, foxing to the top edge, two marks to the fore edge and a mark to the bottom edge. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in very good condition with loss to the corners, a small nick to the top edge of the front cover, nibbling to the bottom edge of the front cover, nibbling to the top and bottom edges of the spine and very slight nibbling to the bottom edge of the back cover. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
