Titoli e fregi in oro ai dorsi. Fioriture. I primi tre volumi riguardano la prima parte e sono stampati a Bastia, i rimanenti sei concernono la seconda parte e sono impressi a Lucca. Il primo volume è preceduto da una "Notizia intorno alla vita e agli scritti di Lazzaro Papi" di A.Mazzarosa. Il Papi (Pontito di Pescia, 1763 - 1834) fu medico nelle Indie Orientali fino al 1802, poi Bibliotecario di Elisa Bonaparte a Lucca, quindi tenente colonnello delle truppe lucchesi. Nei "Commentari" formula un giudizio equilibrato, sostanzialmente favorevole, sulla rivoluzione. L'opera ricevette il gran premio letterario dell'Accademia della Crusca. > Brunet, IV, 351. 4100 gr.

Sei volumi di cm. 30, pp. 2.000 ca. complessive. Brossura originale ornata. Esemplare con solo qualche moderato segno d'uso esterno, peraltro fresco e ben conservato, particolarmente marginoso. Unito a: Comentarii della rivoluzione francese. Parte prima. Bastia, Tip. Fabiani, 1836. Tre volumi di cm. 28,5, pp. 900 ca. complessive. Bross. orig. ornata. Tracce d'uso esterne, peraltro internamente ben conservato. Per entrambe le opere si tratta della rara tiratura in carta grande. Opera con una vicenda editoriale assai complessa. La prima parte in effetti è apparsa cinque anni dopo la seconda per un editore differente, nonostante le promesse che l'editore Giusti non cessava a stampare sul retro della brossura dei volumi stampati dalla sua tipografia. Le tipologie editoriale sono però le stesse e le brossure uguali, ciò a dimostrazione che il cambio d'editore deve avere motivazioni politiche e di censura storica.

Bella legatura in Mezza pelle rossa e nera con ricchi fregi e caratteri dorati al dorso. Opera premiata dalla Accademia della Crusca - 1835). Lazzaro Papi (Pontito, 23 ottobre 1763 Lucca, 25 dicembre 1834) è stato uno scrittore e storico italiano, seminarista, letterato, colonnello dei lancieri del Bengala, mercante. 19mo secolo.

Sei volumi legati in tre di cm. 21, pp. 2.000 ca. complessive. Solida ed elegante legatura coeva in mezza pelle verde, dorsi a nervi con fregi e titoli in oro. Piatti marmorizzati e tagli colorati. Esemplare fresco ed in eccellente stato di conservazione.
