Condition: Sehr gut. Original boards in unclipped dust-jacket (this with one smaller hole at the edge of each flap), 264 pp, 12 ills. on plates and further drawings in the text, very good condition. Preface by Marco Pallis, who also worked with Trungpa on the text. Early Tibetan autobiography by one of the most famous Lamas of the first generation in exile. Published when he lived at Oxford where he was able to study philosophy amongst others and learned excellent English. Very readable, the experiments to introduce Buddhism unconventionally started only after Trungpa went to the US in 1970. Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 550.

A hereditary Tibetan Buddhist monk, Trungpa emigrated to America wherehe renounced his formal vows and founded the branch of Buddhism known as Shambhala. He also founded the Narop Institute in Boulder, Colorado where he instructed manu of the prominent Beat poets, including Ginsberg, Orlovsky, Anne Waldman and Diane di Prima. A fine copy in a fine dust jacket signed by Trungpa on the dedication page. He died of alcoholism at the age of 48 in 1987. Books signed by Trungpa are quite scarce . Two private library stamps to the endpapers.
