Volume One (of Three) of extraordinary diaries of the Nazi period in Germany, kept by the German-Jewish journalist, film critic and professor of romance languages at Dresden Technical College (until his dismissal under the Nazi Jewish blood laws of 1935. This first time English translation is abridged, edited and translated by Martin Chalmers from the German. Klemperer survived the Holocaust and the war and lived and taught in East German until his death in 1960. Illustrated with a b/w photographic frontispiece of Klemperer.
