Bound in a pictorial cover and issued without a dust jacket. This is a large book at 8.75 x 11.25 inches and 4.5 pounds. Does not include the publisher's clear acetate it was originally wrapped in. There is wear and rubbing to the black leatherette that covers the spine on both the back and front of the book (see images). This is the only detriment to this otherwise VG-condition book. The boards and spine are straight and the binding is strong. The pages and text block edges are clean and unmarked. The images shown are of the actual item. Free shipping within the US.
Hard Cover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. First Edition (Stated). First Revised Edition, in which many new or better illustrations have been added. The motive power lists have been enlarged and corrected to identify the various steam locomotives' origins and dispositions. Descriptive text has replaced the statistical arrangement of facts, and new maps have been drawn to show smaller railroads in more legible clarity. A bright and fine hardcover copy in the original publisher's clear acetate protective cover. Addendum slip laid in at rear. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
