Pamphlet. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. [ART]. Glenn Ligon, Wayne Baerwaldt, Thelma Golden. "Glenn Ligon - Some Changes, January 26 - April 15, 2007 (Gallery Guide)." Columbus, OH: Wexner Center for the Arts, Ohio State University, 2007. First edition. English language. Stapled exhibition gallery guide on matte paper with full-color printing. Critical exhibition didactic text with 9 full-color illustrations of artwork on display, a list of related exhibition events, and exhibition credits. 11 x 8 1/2 inches. 2 oz. 8 pp. Shelf-wear. Some abrasions and spotting on back wrapper. Text clean. Very Good. No ISBN. No ASIN. OCLC: 86226521. "Glenn Ligon creates resonant, multilayered works that filter other people's texts, images, jokes, and voices. Using the work of others - the comedy of Richard Pryor, the words of his friends, or historical woodcuts annoucing runaway slaves - allows Ligon a lens through which to expose and conceal ideas about race, sex, politics, and history. Specifically, Ligon's work reflects a young man growing up while struggling with the expression of his heritage. This exhibition follows Ligon through 'some changes' via self-portraits ranging from childhood to adulthood.".

Softcover. Condition: VG. Stone pictorial wraps with diecut circles on front cover, French flaps, 100 pp., color & duotone illus., plus drawings. Issued in conjunction with a 2007 exhibition. Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier (Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris, 1887-1965) designed the Eglise Saint-Pierre de Firminy-Vert church, about an hour outside of Lyon, France. Unfortunately, he passed away before the design was completed. His young apprentice, French architect Jose Oubrerie (b. 1932), continued where his mentor left off. "Neither this exhibition nor the Firminy church is just about Le Corbusier, or even just about him and Jose Oubrerie. In fact, both are undeniably more about the iterative process of design, the compromises that are created by people working together, the changes that happen as new information arises during the design process. These effects are magnified by the incredible talent of the two architects and the immense stretch of time that has extended from the first breath of the project until its eventual, emphatic completion more than forty years later." (intro) Includes a variety of essays, as well as photographs (many close-up views) and archtitectural renderings. A fascvinating story.
