Hardcover. Condition: New. Dust Jacket Condition: New. 1st Edition. Doubleday, 2016, New York. Hard Cover. Book Condition: New. Dust Jacket Condition: New. Stated "First Edition", first printing with a full number line starting at 1". 9-1/2" tall, 306 numbered pages followed by unnumbered pages of "Acknowledgements" and "About the Author"; plain black boards with very lightly textured sand colored quarter binding, black lettering on spine; plain ivory end pages; fore edge is trimmed. Book is brand new and pristine: it is square, hinges tight, corners not bumped, no dings on edges, head and heel of spine very slightly creased, interior clean and unmarked; no page corners folded or damaged; no staining or discoloration; a publisher's bound-in signature page with the author's very legible signature (see photo) immediately follows the FFEP. Jacket is also pristine: it is clean; no tears, folds or fading; raised letters of author's name and title on front panel and spine are evident, as are the railroad tracks that abound (these features have not been crushed); 1-1/2" circular black-on-gold "Signed First / Edition" sticker on front panel to the right of "Colson"; 2-1/4" x 1" black-on-white store sticker (author, title, price, ISBN number & bar code) on lower right corner of rear panel; the front panel DOES NOT have the Oprah imprint; publisher's original price of "U.S. $26.95 / CAN $34.95" listed on the upper right corner of front flap. Condition of book and jacket consistent with being brand new and not read. No other discernible or objectionable faults on book or jacket such as marks or writing within, stains, tears, chips, or other damage that would diminish its appearance. No remainder mark, no previous owner markings or inscriptions, not price clipped, not a book club edition, not a former library book. Signed by the author in thin black felt pen on a plain publisher's tipped-in page in front of the half-title page. Signed again by the author in medium black felt pen at the bottom of title page (see photo), beneath which he added the date ("9/14/16"); signed & dated in my presence at Saint Louis County (Missouri) Library headquarters on September 14, 2016, after 7 PM reading from this book. I also have a flier and a bookmark from this author event. Signed by Author(s).
