Technical drawings of the submarine on endpapers. 8vo. Cloth worn, a little rippled in places, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. Text block edges toned and spotted. Previous owner's name neatly inked on front free endpaper. Hint of spotting on endpapers else internally neat and clean. A study of the sinking of the submarine HMS Thetis in Liverpool Bay during sea trials in 1939, with the loss of 99 lives. The submarine was salvages, repaired and renamed Thunderbolt, serving during the second world war until she was sunk again in the Mediterranean Sea in March 1943, with the loss of all hands.
