Kinnier Wilson was quick to acknowledge her contributions. État marbré (status marmoratus) she introduced as a designation for the mottled appearance of the striatum in the double athetosis commencing in childhood, a change which she considered the substrate of uncomplicated double athetosis" (Haymaker & Schiller, Founders of Neurology, p. 386).
