    Vellum Spine. Condition: Near Fine. Alexeieff, A (illustrator). First Edition in English. First Edition. 111 pp. Quarter vellum binding over brown boards with gilt lettering on boards and spine; inside original packaging with protective tissue paper. Top edge gilt. Engraved illustrations in colour throughout by A. Alexeieff and a preface by Prince D. Sviatopolk-Mirsky. The first edition of The Queen of Spades to contain a full English version of the text; number 228 of 250 copies printed on Rives vellum. Original packaging box is tattered with some panels detached. However, it has kept the book's binding firm, boards and spine very clean. Page edges untrimmed, but internally clean. A lovely copy in near fine condition. 4to. Illustrated.
