The choice of the cover art by michael herring no disrespect to him but for the editor with zero vision. The figure of Aragorn was from a period after abstract art of the Sixties and before the film covers and the lack of Tolkien's illustrations left this Gandalf with a white cowboy hat (!) and Aragorn from Dallas series with people from a workout video looking in. Glorfindel is one of Tolkien's finest achievements in understated character power. Except for Legolas the movie Two Towers made the Elves like space men that Tolkien would have hated.
