If you've ever asked the question, 'What possible relevance can this verse have for me today?' or 'What difference does this passage make to my life?' then read on.Reading the Bible is about developing a relationship with God, through dependence on the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us to engage with the Bible and to face God's challenge in the here and now. He will always point us to Jesus Christ, the heart of God's Word to us, the one who shows us who God is. Everyone needs a little help when reading the Bible. Sometimes the poetry and prose, history and revelation, or parables and proverbs need some explanation. Daily Bread provides real inspiration each time you read it. Our writers are from all kinds of backgrounds with all kinds of perspectives. We're sure you'll be challenged, encouraged, surprised and inspired as God uses the notes to speak into your life.

Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Softcover in Very Good condition. With pp210, with b&w illustrations. Stephen Robertson (1933 - 2011) was born in Aberdeen, attended Aberdeen Grammar School and then studied law at Aberdeen University. Along with William "Buff" Hardie and George Donald, he created the popular Scottish comedy show, Scotland the What?, originally billed as "three semi-literate Scots taking an irreverent look at their country's institutions". All three had been students at Aberdeen University in the 1950s where Hardie and Robertson excelled as writers and performers, while Donald contributed the musical elements to several student shows. The show which was to become a national treasure made its debut in September 1969, on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Scotland the What? was an instant hit and returned to the Fringe in triumph the following year, with some added Northeast material. They subsequently performed the show at His Majesty's Theatre in Aberdeen.
