Soft cover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. First Edition. 1955 FIRST EDITION. Original plain paperback staple-bound binding. LACKING the dust jacket and lacking the frequently missing illustrated box for th book. The paperback version of the first edition was issued inside an illustrated box designed for direct mailing (lacking here). There was a hardcover version with a dust jacket, but I have never seen a box for that version. This example LACKS the original dust jacket. The original paper covers were issued blank on the outside and with locater map for photo locations on the insides of the covers. A former owner penned the title and photographer names on the blank front cover AND secured the spine with sturdy black cloth tape. No owner marks or writing on pages, no foxing, solid binding, no tears. All pages and photos are present. A good working example of the book, but not one for collectors due to the crude binding reinforcement and penned title on cover. The book measures 225mm tall x 166mm and has 72 unnumbered pages, 73 b/w & 3 color photos, EP maps. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
