Moderate thumb marking, foxing and tanning to pages and plates. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Moderate cracking to gutters and hinges causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have moderate corner bumping and edge-wear with visible tanning, chipping and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.

These were drawn by various artists, the most famous of whom was Leslie Ward who used the 'nom de crayon' of "Spy".
