The text is wholly unmarked, pristine, and the decorative cloth binding is still quite bright and fresh in appearance. Shoemaker won the Pulitzer Prize twice along with numerous other awards. On the ffep is a large caricature and inscription,"HI, Pastor Ewald and signed 'Shoemaker'. Laid in back is a political cartoon on Viet Nam from 1967. If you read the newspapers during this time period, you will recognize some of these cartoons.

Vaughn Shoemaker was an editorial cartoonist and these cartoons were previously printed in five different news papers, including the New York Herald Tribune, the Chicago Daily News, and Chicago' American. This is a limited edition and has no publishing date, although the preface written by the author is dated August 1966. The cartoons are political in nature and cover the years 1947-1966. The pages are not numbered but there appear to be at least 200 pages, some with full page cartoons and some with multiple cartoons to a page. The condition is new. The pages are clean and free of any writing. The beige cloth cover is very clean and has a cartoon face with Shoemaker's signature stamped in black. There are no signs of wear on the book.
