Robin was a Flight Sergeant Pilot for the Canadian Royal Air Force serving the Burma Road from 1943 until 1947. Robin was a professor of History at Kansas State University from 1963 until his retirement in 1999 where he mentored many graduate students. He also was a leader in the field of Military History, having written over 38 books and numerous publications.
