First edition hard back binding in publisher's original slate blue covers, silver title and author lettering to the spine, maroon paper end papers. 8vo. 7½'' x 5¼''. Full printer's number line to the copyright page 1 3 5 7 9 8 6 4 2. A memoir about his early life that won an Esquire Non-Fiction Award in the UK, and was described as 'a beguiling portrait of the artist as a writer and a crook' by the New York Times. Contains [xvi] 300 printed pages of text with monochrome illustrations and photographs throughout. Fine condition book in Very Good condition dust wrapper with small nick to the top of the rear cover, not price clipped. SIGNED by the author to the title page 'Richard Rayner'.
