No slipcase (i.e. lacking). xx, 184 pages. Hardcover: H 25.75cm x L 18.75cm. No dust jacket present (Heritage usually issued books with acetate djs which were generally discarded by most recipients). Brown cloth with a few spots of mottling; spine mildly sunned with some small slender stains at center; gilt stamping to spine and front board dulled. Brown top edge; slight foxing/toning to fore-edge and bottom edge. Slight foxing to several initial and rear leaves; interior pages are clean. Binding is firm. Laid-in between pages 82-83 is Heritage Club brochure "The Heritage Sandglass" (Number 2C) issued for this specific volume. With several b/w plates and tissue guards. A nice edition of Goethe's FAUST. No date specified but Library of Congress indicates 1939 (emulating the 1932 Limited Editions Club version). Certainly an early book in George Macy's Heritage Club which preceded his Heritage Press.
