This work contains extensive notes on a `day X day' / `action X action' basis in such WWII campaigns as the Battle of Britain, El Alamein, Siciliy, Desvres, Etaples, Amiens, Meaulte, etc. - all from the perspective of the Canadian air force. The book goes out of its way to detail the names of many of participants in these sorties - thereby making it a valuable research tool for tracking personnel. There is as well a 9 page appendix, listing personnel who were decorated for their war contributions - DSO, DFC, DFM, George Medal etc. 376 pages incl. appendix and index are complemented by perhaps 138 b/w photos. MANY photos of personnel, some of aircraft, some aerial reccy, some of action and some post-bombing to access damage. Cond: Blue-green dust jacket with RCAF emblem over blue boards. D.J. is 96% complete but is extensively tattered , esp. edges and folds. Book is also worn lightly at points. lightly soiled. Stained on corners of 4 first pages and fifteen last + some others. One BUMPED corner. Still an attractive and informative volume. Tight. No names NOR marks. Quote from page 113 (August 1943) : " Operations on the 27th and 30th were not characterized by any conclusive combats, but the month was rounded out with a raid by Fortresses over Belgium on the 31st. When our aircraft were ten miles south of Ghent one squadron bounced five Me. 109s out of the sun and destroyed two, one falling to the guns of McNair, the other." Size: 8vo.

There is a photograph of each, along with details of its construction and a foreword written by Patrick Moore.
