When the county was opened to settlement many of the inhabitants came from Texas and they named the county Roger Mills in honor of Roger Q. Mills, at that time a popular Congressman from Texas. Outlaws, lawmen, ranchers, Indians, Custer on the Washita, etc. Six Guns 2185 and Herd 2235 say "scarce." Fine, bright, tight copy.
