Issued in conjunction with an exhibition of paintings and drawings related to work done at Dorchester House in London by English sculptor and artist Alfred Stevens (1817-1875). With an opening essay by Dugald Sutherland MacColl. The catalogue addresses 13 cartoons that were painted on the walls at Dorchester House, and 94 drawings or paintings that were affiliated with those cartoons. The exhibited items were loaned by Alfred Drury and by Sir George Holford, who was the owner of Dorchester House until his death in 1926. The mansion itself was demolished in 1929. A rare catalogue.
