Es soll der Frage nachgegangen werden, inwiefern sich das kameralistische Gedankengut in der Ordnung widerspiegelt und welche wirtschafts- und bevölkerungspolitischen Motive der Erzbischof verfolgte. Zu Beginn der Arbeit wird die Persönlichkeit Joachim Bechers und das damalige kameralistische Verständnis von Wirtschaftspolitik kurz beleuchtet. Anschließend wird die Situation der Mainzer Juden vor 1662 beschrieben, gefolgt von den in der am 8. Dezember erlassenen Judenordnung ersichtlichen kameralistischen Phänomenen. Zuletzt werden die Motive des Erzbischofs analysiert. 'Dass die hiesige Judenschaft sich allzu sehr überhäuft und dadurch der Bürgerschaft, den Handelsleuten und den Handwerkern sowohl bei Wohnungen als Nahrung merklich entzogen und um deswillen nicht wenig Klagen geführt'. Mit diesen Worten soll der Mainzer Erzbischof Johann Philipp von Schönborn (1605-1673), seine am 8. Dezember 1662 veranlasste Judenordnung begonnen haben. Mit diesen restriktiven Maßnahmen, die sowohl soziale als auch wirtschaftliche Aspekte beinhalteten, verfolgte der erste Mainzer Erzbischof seit dem dreißigjährigen Krieg eine Judenpolitik, welche sich klar von denen seiner Vorgänger unterschied und welche das Leben derselben für die nächsten Jahrzehnte prägen sollte. 16 pp. Deutsch.
