"The Mathers on Dancing" refers to writings by Puritan ministers Increase Mather (1685) and his son Cotton Mather (1700) who vehemently opposed "profane and promiscuous dancing," viewing it as sinful, leading to lust, and contrary to Christian piety, a stance captured in their pamphlets, particularly Increase's An Arrow Against Profane and Promiscuous Dancing, compiled and studied in modern editions like this book by Joseph E. Marks III's. Boards are dirty with some bumping, spine is torn and damaged.
