Alfred Hardy (1811-1893), an eminent specialist of dermatology with the publication of the first atlas of dermatolo…gy illustrated by photographic plates to his credit, was professor of clinical medicine at the medical faculty of Paris. His co-author, the celebrated clinician Louis-Jules Béhier (1814-1876) was professor of medicine in Paris. Their joint venture "gehört durch seine Genauigkeit der Beschreibung zu den besten Lehrbüchern der französischen Literatur, und ruht wie all seine sonstigen Schriften, auf der soliden Basis der pahtologischen Anatomie; es wurde vom Conseil d'instructuion publique als Lehrbuch eingeführt" Hirsch.-H.
