8vo. 16 pp. Publisher's printed paper wrappers, staple bound as issued, illustration to the upper cover and a map showing the location of the guild to the rear. Black and white photographs illustrating two of the workshops plus examples of the guild's output including silverware, carvings and vestments. Covers edge worn but generally very good for a such fragile ephemeral item. The Guild of St. Joseph & St. Dominic was founded by Eric Gill, Hilary Pepler, Desmond Chute and Joseph Cribb as a society of craftsmen, their art and values informed by and devoted to their shared Catholic faith. Gill and Chute left the guild in the 1920s, and Pepler in 1934. By the time of this catalogue, Cribb was the only original member, and he and the other members - Bernard Brocklehurst, Philip Hagreen, Valentine Kilbride, George Maxwell and Dunstan Pruden plus the "Postulant" John Hagreen are listed on the first page. The guild survived until the late 1980s at which time the workshops on the edge of Burgess Hill were demolished. Rare, just two copies traced in British institutional libraries (Oxford and the National Library of Scotland) plus four more in the US.
