Small 4to, pp viii, 146, 6 colour lithographed plates with India paper interleaves, numerous text wood-engravings, well bound in contemporary Oxford style full polished calf, sides blind panelled with central gilt urn ornaments, spine with riased bands, gilt ornaments and red label between, marbled endpapers, spine a little faded and rubbed, light foxing to plates as usual, but a very good pleasing clean copy, FIRST EDITION, a significant title in the history of glass production by one of its major 19th century innovators and manufacturers, Apsley Pellatt. This is the Pull Court Library copy, with early bookplate of Richard Lane Freer, Archdeacon of Hereford, gifted by bequest after his death in 1863 to E R Dowdeswell at Pull Court, one of the great private libraries of Worcestershire.
