Oblong, spiral-bound chartreuse softcover, 40 pp. Beautifully illustrated by Linda Rogers with full-page color artwork and in-text B&W drawings. 1992, 1st Edition stated. A charming tale for children about a green and beautiful kingdom. As trees were cut down to build houses, eventually all the trees were gone and the kingdom was no longer green and beautiful. The king made a law that a tree be planted for every child that was born -- their birthing day tree to help make the kingdom beautiful and green again. Following the story are information and pages a parent can use to plant a birthing day tree for their child, with pages to record the event and paste photographs of the planting. The author is a storyteller who performs for the Mountain Moon Tale Spinners of York, PA. Condition: VG. Very small stain to top edge of most pages from page 16 to the end, otherwise clean and crisp, no markings, no creases and no tears. Cover has a little edge wear.
