Memoirs of World War I is an eyewitness account of the Great War by a man recognised as the "father" of American air power. Mitchell describes many of his own combat experiences at the front: in the Marne Valley and over the Argonne. These memoirs, based on Mitchell's extensive diaries constitute a captivating history on the overall development of the World War One, the trial-and-error emergence of aerial combat, and the final successes of tactical and strategic air power.
