Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Two volumes in dark green cloth hardcovers with gilt titles to spines and black titles to fronts plus gilt and black art deco designs to spines and fronts. The volumes are ex. the Science Museum Library and have library plates to the front paste downs, stamps to half title and title pages and ffep of vol. 2. 403 pp. in total.Numerous black and white diagrams and photographs and a small number of colour illustrations with moving parts. The volumes are in fair condition with quite heavy shelf-wear to the extremities of the covers, there are splits to one side of the tails of the spines, 1" and 1.5" long. There is scuffing to the back boards and two small blobs to the front board of vol. 2. The front hinges of both volumes are cracked and the bindings slack. To volume 1, there are very occasional minor spots of foxing scattered throughout the volume. In volume 1 the moving parts of one drawing have become detached and one small part is detached to another, there is creasing to the extremities of another drawing. In volume 2, there are small marks to the bottom of the reverse of the half title and title pages, and a small mark to two pages of the list of illustrations. There is light to moderate foxing to the pages of coloured illustrations and to pages adjacent, there are occasional spots scattered throughout. The moving parts to two illustrations are loose and the extremities of another are creased. The books weigh 4.8 kg. in total, additional postage will be required, for sale in only.
