Mit Widmung an Giulio Ricordi. - Ercole Arturo Marescotti (geb. 1866) war ein italienischer Journalist und Musikschriftsteller, komponierte auch eigene Musikwerke, die er bei Ricordi herausgab. - Auf der Versoseite ein weiterer Eintrag, dieser von Alfredo Melani (1859-1928), italienischer Architekt und Kunstkritiker, erlangte durch journalistische Arbeiten, insbesondere die erfolgreiche Reihe der Hoepli-Kunsthandbücher, große Bekanntheit. Architektonische Werke hat er nur wenige hinterlassen, etwa die Merli-Maggi-Kapelle auf dem Mailänder Friedhof.
