Nowadays the abandoned island is better known as a ghost island through mangas, video games, and movies. "Spelling Dystopia" asks how memory operates, how a site wears its history, both physically and metaphorically, and visualizes the shift in collective memory. The book contains sketches, research material, production stills, series of photographic images, and a manga realized in collaboration with Kasuga Tsubaki, a Japanese manga artist.

Bush's arrival at Berlin airport in the film "Nuclear Football" by showing the arrival of his luggage; the incipient protest movements prompted by climate change in Gorleben and Heiligendamm; American symbolic places such as the Pentagon, the United Nations, and the World Trade Center these are free-jazz accounts of the central media events of recent years. In texts by Christian Höller, Klaus Theweleit, Karen van den Berg, and Jan Verwoert the book illuminates the backgrounds of far-flung artistic conspiracy theories and celebrates the aesthetics of paranoia. A primer for the five latest films by Korpys/Löffler.

Nur dass er dies auf Papier, in Zeichnungen tat. Das Buch versammelt eine Auswahl dieser Bürozeichnungen, die mit absurdem Humor den Büroalltag und die Art dieser Berufe darstellen.

Matias Faldbakken (*1973) is an artist and writer living in Oslo. Son of the celebrated Norwegian author Knut Faldbakken, he has published two novels, The Cocka Hola Company and Macht und Rebel under the alias Abo Rasul. Drenched with acid humor and continuously hitting below the waist, his books immediately caused a considerable stir in Norway. If, in these publications, he underlines the differences and similarities between the so-called underground and the mainstream, and between the "independent" and the "commercial" in everyday life, these subjects are also central to his art practice. Fascinated with systems of knowledge, power, order, and exchange, he shows an interest in understanding how art and artists can be active participants in these systems.

Presenting 80 photographs of unspectacular views, the book reveals the process of hiding complex meaning behind a surface of normalcy. With a series of short texts, Russell Fergusson brings to the fore those hidden facts of historical, political, natural, or scientific nature. He thus reveals Lachenmann's photographs for what they truly are: conceptual artworks. This book inscribes itself in the German artist's body of works as a kind of picture novel rather than a monograph.

The celebrated Russian philosopher Boris Groys, and the young international artist from Georgia Andro Wekua, discussed their shared experiences in the Soviet system, the conditions governing production in contemporary art today, and the sensitivities of a generation of artists born in the 1970s, taking Wekua's two large installations "Wait to Wait" and "Get Out of My Room" as examples. Phenomena such as loneliness, doubles, repetitions, mirror images, and waiting are the central themes of this conversation, illustrated by pictures of the two installations and several collages by Wekua.

Softcover. Condition: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 17,5 x 23,5 cm, 432 pages, 60 color & 296 b/w illustrations - This publication tells, through its archives, the story and evolution of a particular institution the Centre d'édition contemporaine , relates its production and its artistic policy, and establishes its place, status and commitment in the field of contemporary art. The spanned period, 1989-2007, is situated long after the creation of the Centre genevois de gravure contemporaine (in the 1960s) which became, in 2001, the Centre d'édition contemporaine. It corresponds to a period during which the Centre opened and developed itself toward a contemporary art in fast mutation. Covering these nineteen years of activity, this book tries to illustrate and comment them, to catalogue and describe them in detail. It is organized in three parts. The first one brings together texts dealing either directly with the Centre as a reference point or, more generally, with publishing through analyses of its recent history particularly that of the 1960s-70s , of its different production and distribution strategies or, more directly, of personal experiences. At the center of the book, a section of colour photographs documents such exhibitions, critical choices and moments deemed crucial to the Centre's journey and its program. The third part forms the factual side of this development, a catalogue composed of all the editions, exhibitions, events, collaboration and various invitations which, month after month, have formed the "biography" of this place. This last segment is followed by a series of "Snapshots," a kind of affective addition to the catalogue.

Softcover. Condition: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. 21,5 x 28 cm (softcover) 160 pages (b/w ill.) - Appendix Appendix is conceived as the sequel to Ryan Gander & Stuart Bailey's 2003 book Appendix. Like its predecessor, it attempts "a translation of practice" based on Ryan Gander's recent body of work. Neither straight documentation, nor an "artist's book," it pushes for a third way, editing and presenting each individual piece of work in a manner appropriate to its specific nature. In the years since Appendix, Gander's work has increasingly encompassed sound and the moving image in addition to the earlier objects and installations. This shift will directly affect the form of Appendix Appendix.

The artist photographed the outside of a box of Ilford photographic paper (usually decorated with a classic b/w photograph) and then printed this image onto each sheet of photo paper that was in the box. Up to now, there have been about 16 different versions of this conceptual piece, varying in format and number of paper sheets according to the various kinds of Ilford products. This volume for the first time displays the various versions of the project on 440 completely unreadable pages. The book comes in an Ilford box and is limited to an edition of 600 copies.
