Arthur Featherstone Marshall (1818 1877) was the younger brother of Thomas William Marshall ( 1818- 1877 ) the catholic controversialist. Arthur was also a catholic controversialist, he abandoned his curacy at Liverpool to become a Catholic in the early 1860's. He was widely known as the author of " The Comedy of Convocation " , a satirical brochure exposing the inconsistencies invoked in all three of the Anglican views---High, Low, and Broad Church. A brilliant writer who also wrote other controversial works of a light and popular character including - " Reply to the Bishop of Ripon's Attack on the Catholic Church" and the " Infallibility of the Pope." This pamphlet is rare, COPAC ( on-line 3 / 16 ) locates only one copy. - British Library. Halkett and Laing V1.P378.
