Davidson (illustrator). 176pp, plus publisher's catalog, illustrated with several full-page drawings by Davidson, light green decorated cloth covers, minor sunning at edges, front gutter was apparently nibbled by silverfish and has been brushed with shellac (?) as an amateur but neat remedy, book is relatively bright and clean, but for extremities and corners which show minor wear, in a moderately worn and soiled dust jacket with shallow chipping at folds and spine ends, occasional short closed tears, and sunning at spine, now housed in protective Brodart. Originally published in 1866, this is among the titles in the Little Prudy Series. The author, Rebecca Sophia Clarke, aka Sophie May, 1833-1906, was called the Dickens of the nursery and was noted for her realistic characterization of children who were often naughty and uninhibited in the stories.
