In 1772 his was appointed Professor of Greek at Edinburgh University. Dalzel was a prominent figure during the Scottish Enlightenment and a co-founder of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1783. PROVENANCE: John Steinfort Kidney was a 19th century American author and theologian. The Rev. John Steinfort Kidney served as rector of the Protestant Episcopal Church in Saratoga Springs, NY then at Trinity Church, Society Hill, South Carolina.
