Moderate foxing and tanning to pages with heavier tanning to pastedowns and endpapers. Slight dog-eared pages throughout and heavier foxing and tanning to text block edges. Plate is detached but present with cracks to guttering with exposed netting. Both hinges are cracked with exposed netting. Boards have visible rubbing and ink marks and notable bumping to corners. Fair crushing to spine ends and visible rubbing to spine.

Some spotting on prelims and one page spread markedly soiled. Previous owner's label, dated 1935, on front free endpaper. Slightly loose. . A charming, if somewhat moralistic to modern eyes, story for children. Hard to find title.
