Magazine. Condition: Fine. First Edition. The Jubilee Edition of the very rare Rhodesian Light Infantry magazine, devoted to all aspects of the history of this famed African counter-insurgency unit, founded in 1961 as a British Army regiment and disbanded in 1980 as political power was given by the British to communist terrorist Robert Mugabe as Zimbabwe was granted its own independence. Filled with many nostalgic photos, maps, and reminiscences, containing much accurate history of engagements, contacts, and special operations - both inside Rhodesia and 'externally' into neighboring countries - along with much humor and 'then and now' information on individual former members. Regiment was known as 'Smithie's boys' and 'soldiers of Smith' as it was fiercely loyal to Rhodesian Prime Minister Ian Smith. Published in South Africa by the RLI Regimental Association (RLIRA) and edited by a former NCO therein, magazine format, 72pp. An excellent copy of a very rare and unusual collectible. Size: Large Format. Book.
