Peter Michael (cover for Reynolds novel), Kelly Freas (cover for Chandler novel) (illustrator). mass market paperback 132 pp for the Reynolds novel, 121 pp. for the Chandler novel. Ace Double G-632. A good reading copy or an upgrade for a collector of Ace Doubles or vintage science fiction. About the Reynold novel. Rigel has two cultures on two planets in need of advancing to the level of the Home World Earth. One is like feudal Italy, the other resembles Aztec Mexico. It is up to the team from Earth to raise them to an acceptable level. But the Rigelians can learn faster than the team imagines. About the Chandler novel. From the inside flysheet: "The Iralians were humanoid and technically free citizens of the Galactic Empire. But as slaves they were prized above all others, for they had the unique capacity to transmit knowledge by heredity. And so when the space mercenary Wanderer was hired by GLASS (Galactic League for the Abolition and Suppression of Slavery) to take a cargo of Iralians home it was not going to be a simple task.".

First Edition
Paperback. Condition: New. 1st Edition. Originally a town that was built of wood by the Anglo-Saxons, it was later burned down and then rebuilt as England s second city, after London, by William the Conqueror. Riots between the church and the citizens saw Norwich at war with the Pope in 1272 when a gate was constructed as a penance. The Norfolk Regiment has seen its men in combat from the Napoleonic Wars, the Crimean War, the Boer War and both World Wars. The more recent conflicts in the Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan have also witnessed the bravery of the Norfolks. A comprehensive list of military personnel who gave their lives is examined, including Norwich-born Second Lieutenant Wilfred Edwards VC, as well as an account of 9694 Private John Henry Abigail of the Norfolk Regiment who, on 12 September 1917, aged 21, was executed for being AWOL. It would not be until November 2006 that Private Abigail was pardoned by the British government. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. What is freedom of thought? Freedom of thought may seem simple enough. In reality, achieving freedom of thought is actually quite complicated. Throughout one's life, you are bombarded with people around you trying to influence your thoughts, views, and opinions. From the time you are an infant, people are trying to shape your world view regardless of whether they are parents, other family, friends, teachers, or neighbors. The media is constantly trying to sway your view. Advertisers are trying to convince you to buy their products. Flyers try to convince you to come to a new event. Politicians try to convince you to vote for them. Such influences constantly alter our path of thinking, often without us realizing it. On top of all of this, our own mind often plays tricks on us and lies to ourselves. Not only do we often have a hard time keeping facts straight, our emotions also tend to get the best of us and can overwhelm us with problems. So how do we sort all of this out to achieve mental clarity and freedom? That is what this book is about.
