Chambers to the original owner of this book that is dated 1929 and reads; "With Kind Regards, C.E.S. Chambers - W. Forbes Gray Esq." Charles E.S. Chambers was a grandson of Robert Chambers, and a book collector. This catalogue of some of the rarer items in his collection also contains a useful bibliography of William and Robert Chambers. The book is bound in the original red cloth covered boards with a paper title label on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear and light soiling on the boards. The spine is slightly faded and there is some wear to the title label. There is also slight fading to the bottom 2 3/4" of the rear board. The contents are tight and clean with browning to the back of the frontispiece and some light foxing on the front. There is no inscription. Association copy.
