Large quarto, [iv], 158 pages (first and last pages blank) extensively illustrated with artwork by Braque (complete with all 20 full-page colour plates, including original lithographs). Colour-pictorial papered boards (designed by the artist); spine a little sunned, and lightly rubbed and bumped at the head and foot; edges lightly foxed and marked; minimal signs of handling; an excellent copy. 'Cet ouvrage contient un ensemble de dessins provenant des carnets de travail de Georges Braque' (verso of the title page).

Replete with 29 original lithographs printed by Mourlot (17 in color, 5 of which are double-page but none single-sided) by Braque(2), Matisse(3), Laurens(2), Giacometti(2), Masson(3), Leger(3), Miro(3), Bores(2), Gromaire(2) & Chagall(7). 154 pages with text in French. Folio, pictorial boards by Braque (covers scuffed and sunned at edges; spine paper entirely lacking). Paris: Verve, (1952). First edition. Overall a very good(-) copy but plates are clean despite some toning at edges. A scarce and collected issue of Verve -- it is more commonly seen in the 1959 reprint titled "Moods and Movements in Art". The excellent double-page color lithographs are by Matisse, Masson, Leger, Miro & Chagall.
