Inscribed by Robert Beloof: "March 1974. For Old Friends, Red & Madeleine Stephenson, Robert Beloof." Robert Beloof was born in 1923, and raised in Kansas. In 1940 he became a Quaker, and was a conscientious objector during World War II. His first book of poems, 'The One-Eyed Gunner,' was published in 1956.
