Condition: VG. Collection of 4 Ching-Chih Lee items: Two large books apparently printed in China of Ching-Chih Lee's paintings. These are labeled "Volume 1" and "Volume 2". Not only are these initial two volumes of her artwork very hard to find, Volume 1 is ***Signed by Ching-Chih Yee in presentation "To Sanlellon's" dated May 21, 1937. These two volumes are folio in size ( 15x10-1/2 inches), printed on accordion-fold handmade thin Chinese paperand silk-string bound. Volume 1 has titlepage and 2 text pages in Chinese script; two printed pages of Calligraphy; 12 fullpage reproductions of Yee's paintings. Volume 2 has one titlepage with text in Chinese, one printed illustration of calligraphy and 12 reproductions of Yee's paintings. All pages are printed on rectos only. The covers of both volumes have chipped almost entirely away but the original printed paper labels from front panels remain. Bindings are still quite secure. Internally pages are VG plus with just slight wear from time, no spots, no tears, no stains. Third item is an original ink by Ching-Chih Lee with Chinese signature in red ink name stamps which is laid in volume 1. Drawing is 8-1/2 x 11 inches on single sheet of paper. There is one minor halfinch long closed tear in left margin not into image otherwise drawing is Near Fine. Fourth item in collection is an original printed program for "Exhibition of Paintings on Silk, Paper and Porcelain by Miss Ching-Chih Yee and 17thc Century colors used in her Paintings" for an exhibit at China Institute of America, New York City, April and May 1955. Brochure is 9x6 inches, with one small illustration of Ching-Chih Yee painting on front panel, 3 pages of text which includes a brief biography of Miss Yee written by C F Yau.This brochure is VG.
