This is the third volume in the series, being the First Edition, issued in September 1930. IT is hardcover format, and retains the decorative dust-jacket (which replicates the design on the book's front cover. An added bit of interest : this copy still had the publisher's printed paper insert, with a brief analysis of poetry's place in the literary continuum, and a promotion on the reverse side for books by W. H. Auden, P. P. Graves, and Joseph Gordon Macleod. ************************************* SERIES : Poets on the Poets (No. 3) / TITLE : Tennyson / AUTHOR : Humbert Wolfe (1885 - 1940) / IMPRINT : Faber and Faber / PLACE : London / DATE : (September 1930) / EDITION : First Edition / STATUS : Out of Print - OP / DETAILS : Trade Hardcover, No. 3 in a series; 60 pages; 5" x 7 1/2"; paper-covered boards and spine (pale orange paper with a decorative design in green featuring an exotic urn spewing smoke); the top of the text-block edges is dyed dark gray; the fore-edge and bottom edge are each untrimmed; a dust-jacket replicates the cover's design, but with the decorative design mostly in black - only the subject title and author are printed in green. In Preparation : Abercrombie on Wordsworth; Blunden on Coleridge). We've included the leaflet in one of our pictures. / SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES : Still included is the publisher's single paper sheet (3 3/4" x 5 7/8", printed black on white) with text on and promotions for other books. CONDITION . BOOK : GOOD PLUS - JACKET : GOOD ONLY . Else the interior is clean and free of marking. No writing, no marginalia, no underlining. The inserted leaflet has a tiny corner crease, else is clean and fresh. / DUST-JACKET --Intact and holding. Considerable chipping, small tears, and small loss about the edges; spine panel joint folds are rubbed, with small surface loss; jacket panes have modest surface rub, and display adequately. the spine panel is slightly darkened and has ragged extremities; the reverse side of the jacket has a couple of small cellophane tape pieces with attendant discoloration (these are quite old); All four corners of the flaps are clipped; the whole is housed in a clear, mylar cover to ward off further wear.
