hardcover. Dust Jacket Condition: no DJ. 8vo 241pp. from Preface: ".In the preparation of a book on the financial history of the United Staes, the author had occasion to investigate deeply the early business development of our commercial centers. The important part that Hamilton had in almost every large enterprise of the period indicated his dominance of the financial scence, an indication that was verified by closer research. [. . .] For as a man, he was not noble; as a politician, he was not an eminent success; as a statesman, apart from financial measures, he was not superior. But as a business man, not in all his period was any man to match him, nor in all the years of American history can any figure dwarf him in this, his natural field." #01810. Book VG-: age wear to boards and spine, spine sunned/chipped at top. toning to endpapers and frontispiece, text clean, binding tight.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. This 6.25 x 9.25 inch, 241 page hardcover book is apparently a 1931 publication by Greenberg, Publisher, of New York. This copy shows only Greenberg as the publisher and there is no mention of Garden City reprints, but there is no statement of first edition to be seen. The book itself is in at least very good condition with the blue-black cloth covers showing very little wear. There are several pin-sized white spots on the spine and rear cover, but overall the gilt design and lettering is still bright and clean and the covers are at least in very good condition. The inside text block is in near fine condition with the only real condition issue worth mentioning is that this book was gifted to Frederick H. Cross on January 3, 1932 in commemoration of Cross' 18th birthday and a piece of paper with 39 people signed the paper and the paper was glued to the ffep, as shown by our picture. The binding of the book is tight and the book is in really nice condition. 241 pages.
