Halbleinen. 21 x 21 cm, 40 Seiten befriedigenes Exemplar Sprache: deu 600 gr.
Square hardcover with linen spine and paper covered boards. The front board is illustrated with a decorative flower pattern, on which the illustration of two young girls is mounted. The spine shows a small tear in the middle and the board edges are slightly worn, overall in good condition. 20,5 x 21,5 cm, 40 pp. With four tipped-in polychrome illustrations and several black engravings among the text. Wie die liebe Sonne ihren Tag zubrachte is a German translation of the Dutch book Hoe 't zonnetje haar dag besteedde (1923). The four polychrome illustrations by Rie Cramer (1887-1977) show a beautiful image of childhood in soft colours and hard lines. As an illustrator Cramer was inspired by English artists like Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac. Their style is mainly reflected in her use of color and line. Cramer was (and still is) one of the greatest Dutch illustrators. B2331.
