Condition: Fair. 1891. 193 pages. No dust jacket. Red and black cloth with gilt lettering. Book has been rebound. Rough cut pages are moderately tanned and thumbed at the edges, creased corners and foxing. Marginalia to a few pages. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Condition is kind of rough but complete. Blue boards with gilt titles on front and spine. Wear at the spine ends and corner, moderate shelf rubbing, bit of edge wear. Front board is detached and gutter and spine, held by the rear. I found significant foxing spots near the front and back pages, diminish after about 10-20 pages from each end. I found several turned page corners and some pencil markings through the text. Previous owner and London England in ink on first blank page dated 1869.

De Guerin was a French poet also known for his fine nature writing, reflected in this journal. An exlibrary copy from the Sturgis Library in Barnstable, Massachusetts. Very minor edgewear. Library markings include small white letter on spine, vintage bookplate from 1867, title page stamp and number. Scattered foxing. Very good.
