Cobb, and, most notably, Joanne Woodward who won the 1958 Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance. Foreword by former President of the American Psychological Association J. McV. Hunt [Joseph McVicker Hunt]. Although the book was first issued by New York publisher McGraw Hill in 1957, this copy does not have a specific publisher imprint but the copyright page does have a printer-binder statement as well as stating that additional copies of the book can be obtained from the authors in Augusta, Georgia. The book's inscribee Becky Rogers was the wife of Congressman Paul G. Rogers (1921-2008) who graduated from the University of Florida in 1942 and, after World War II service, earned a law degree at the University of Florida in 1948. Entering private practice in Palm Beach, Florida and serving on the board of directors for Merck & Co. and Mutual Life Insurance Co. of New York, Paul Rogers won a special election to fill the House seat held by his late father, U.S. Representative Dwight L. Rogers (1886-1954), a five term Congressman serving Florida's 6th district from January 1945 until his passing in December 1954. Paul Rogers went on to be elected to a total of twelve terms to the U.S. House of Representatives serving from January 1955 to January 1979. Rogers specialized in environmental and health-care legislation earning the moniker "Mr. Health" and was commemorated as the namesake of the federal courthouse in West Palm Beach and for the National Institutes of Health's main campus in Bethesda, Maryland. As both were southerners and entered Congress near simultaneously, Strom Thurmond (1902-2003) and Paul Rogers had a history of collaboration together on legislation and started their congressional careers as signers of the Southern Manifesto. The book was acquired directly from the Paul and Becky Rogers estate.
