The brown recto of the ffep has a non-author gift inscription dated June 28, 1881. Whitish halo on the brown end papers. An early gathering (roughly pages 3-16) is very lightly shaken. The contents otherwise appear clean and securely bound, albeit with a bit of age-appropriate tanning. Green cloth boards with gilt spine lettering and stamped black line top and bottom borders; stamped black lettering, decoration, and top and bottom border lines on the upper board; blind-stamped top and bottom border lines on the lower board. Rubbed and exposed corners; rubbing with a touch of fraying in the spine head and tail edges. Other wear to the boards is light. NOT an ex-library copy!.
