no binding. Dust Jacket Condition: None. SLOAN, JOHN (1871-1951) (illustrator). 100. 1905. From New York City Life Series. Etching. From the ed. of 100. Signed in pencil. Morse 127. 5 x 7" with full margins. Framed. Etching, 1905. 127x178 mm; 5 x 6 7/8 inches, full margins. Edition of 100. Signed, titled and inscribed "100 proofs" in pencil, lower margin. A very good impression. The first of John Sloan's "New York life plates," Connoisseurs of Prints depicts an exhibition of prints to be auctioned at the old American Art Gallery, on East 23rd Street and Madison Square. Sloan planned a series of "Connoisseurs" themed prints, however, this was the only plate realized.
