Die dänische Schriftstellerin, Pädagogin und Journalistin Athalia Schwartz (1821-1871) zählt zu den wichtigen Schriftstellerinnen der dänischen Literatur im 19. Jahrhundert. Sie verfasste außer Schulbüchern, Dramen, Gedichten und Theaterkritiken auch sozialkritische Artikel über das Proletariat und die Lebensbedingungen von Prostituierten, nachdem sie England, die Niederlande und Belgien bereist hatte. ?
